Overcoming the challenges of multi-site collaboration
Autodesk® Revit® Worksharing has provided a much needed answer to multi-user projects, but what if multi-users also means multi-site? GlobalSCAPE WAFS allows users from all locations to access and share files over a WAN at LAN speeds. This can mean faster and more reliable element borrowing, or when worksharing is enabled, users can access entire worksets over a WAN at LAN speeds.
WAFS file replication ensures that current copies of the central file and each workset can exist at all locations that require collaboration. WAFS also enables real-time file locking that prevents users from concurrently borrowing the same workset or entity. Once a user is finished, the common Save-to-Central command publishes changes back to the local central file copy, then WAFS instantly mirrors those changes and unlocks the workset at all sites on the network.
